BACK TO SCHOOL

The group returned back to Arkham and the mundane safety of Miskatonic University to find themselves in hot water with the school's administration and the subject of endless gossip all over campus. The rest of the field trip students returned the following day - but they all seemed a little off. As they watched the others and tried to figure out what was happening they began to uncover a horrible plot that threatened the safety of themselves, the school and all of Arkham...

Session 7: Back to School

August 20 - September 9 1930

Having returned to Arkham, the group spent the almost 2 weeks until school was set to start both getting ready for the upcoming semester and doing their own research at the Orne Library. They noticed that a few of of the field trip students had been seen watching the library (Noakes and Roderick) and Clarissa had been seen storming out of Dr. Henry Armitage's office. Perri confronted her back at Dorothy Upman Hall but she had very little to say. Eventually, the day before classes were set to begin they were called into the Admin building to see the Dean of Students, Marinus Bricknell. Dean Bricknell told them that they were all on very thin ice and that any further marks against them would result in their expulsion from the school.

September 10 1930

The first day of classes for the new semester. Perri Price went to her Culture, Mind and Mental Health class and then straight into her Anthropology of Death seminar. Afterwards she took a break on the lawn to rest and watch for any of the Field Trip students but didn't come across any. Diane Long assigned her to work down in the basement with a fellow student Librarian, Steven, sorting a collection of periodicals that had been donated to the University. While they were working, Roderick Block came down and started looking at some old newspapers. She couldn't see exactly what he was reading but when he abruptly left she found an article titled Family Found Dead in Vermont in one of them.

Norris attended his History class and saw Jason Trent come in just as the bell rang. Afterwards he met up with Angela Thurston and her friends Sally and Alex at a diner just off campus. They told him that Roderick Block had quit the football team altogether and that there were tryouts being held this weekend for his replacement - and that Blaine had been tossed out of the local Speakeasy twice in the last week. That night he was woken by the sound of buzzing coming from outside his door. When his roommate went to check it out he found it was just some kids from the dorm pulling a prank.

Eugene had an morning English class with Professor Albert Wilmarth during which he caught sight of William Noakes watching through one of the windows for a majority of the lecture. Though, when he left the hall Noakes was nowhere to be seen. He went to his job at Abel Sykes' garage and then home afterwards.

Margaret attended her Ancient History class in the morning and then went to the Athletics building to work out and train a bit. She talked with her friend Jill - who also told her about Roderick Block's quitting of the team. Later that night, after diner, she ventured up to Clarissa's room and had an awkward conversation with her. She was left feeling Clarissa seemed...different than before.

September 11 1930

Perri ran into Jason Trent before her Animal Bones & Archeology Lab. He told her that he was never summoned to the Dean's office and agreed to return The Witch-Cult in Western Europe back to the library so that she could read it. During the conversation he seemed chipper and confident - even touching her arm. After the lab and a bite to eat she worked another shift at the Orne - this time being assigned to book duty on the Main floor.

Norris had 2 back to back classes: English Lit and Political Science. After he went to the Orne in search of the group.

Eugene attended the orientation to his Metallurgy Lab - run by Professor Learmonth and his grad student and then his History class. Afterwards he dropped by the dorms to try and find Noakes but couldn't find anyone who could direct him to his rooms so ventured over to the Orne.

Margaret attended her English and Modern History classes and then headed over to the Orne.

Everyone met up with Perri, who was shelving books on the main floor, and exchanged information. While they were talking, Louis, Laslow, Jason Trent and Roderick Block came in. Norris went to talk to Laslow, who was intently staring at the 4 of them from the entrance way. He told him that he had hit his head and couldn't remember what happened that night but didn't see any signs of damage to the Farmhouse in the morning. Norris decided to look for Blaine at the Speakeasy while the others staked out their Field Trip companions. Margaret watched Jason and Roderick go through a section of the card catalogue - making lists of books before splitting up. She followed Jason to the History section but couldn't quite tell what he had picked up. Eugene followed Louis up to the Local History section where he seemed to be annoyed at not finding whatever book he was looking for. Then he went to talk to Laslow, who had pulled a book on Archeology and was watching him from across the room. When Eugene approached him and pulled out a chair to sit and talk, he fell to the floor and strangely couldn't find the chair. Laslow accused him of being drunk...again. When Perri went to take another cart of books from the Reference Desk, Ms. Long told her that another student had just inquired about Legends Of New England - a book that Perri had been waiting to be checked back in for research - and when she looked it up she noticed that Professor Wilmarth had checked it out last - 2 years ago. Perri said she would have Eugene speak with him and ask him to bring it back so she wouldn't have to make an 'uncomfortable phone call' to a teacher.

Norris didn't find Blaine at the Speakeasy. Dorris, one of the bartenders, told him that he'd been banned by O'Bannion after making a ruckus the other day and wasn't welcome back. She said he'd been frequenting the bar pretty steadily since last summer but had been there all the time over the last 2 weeks - and drinking WAY over his limits.

Session 8: The Search for Blaine

September 11 1930 (cont)

Norris was about to head home from the Speakeasy when the bartender, Dorris, pointed out 4 MU students that were friends with Blaine. He joined them for a bit and found out that Blaine had been avoiding everyone since returning from VT. They gave him the address of his boarding house and talked to him about joining in on one of his game nights.

September 12 1930

Perri had come down with a stomach flu the night before and elected to stay home and rest while Norris, Eugene and Margaret went to their morning classes. After class, Eugene headed to work where Norris came to talk to him about Blaine. They decided to leave a note for Margaret (who was lunching with friends) asking her to meet them outside the Library that evening so that they could pay Blaine a visit. Unfortunately he was not home when they arrived - but they gave the landlord a story about picking up some books that he had promised them that they desperately needed for class and eventually Norris' charm won them a trip to his attic apartment. The apartment was littered with empty whiskey bottles and scattered with books and papers. They quickly went through his things while the landlord took a call downstairs - finding several occult books (DemonalityIsis Unveiled and The Witch-Cult in Western Europe) and a letter from Emelda Cratchett to Blaine. Margaret noticed some down feathers near his bed and found Daphne Devine's field notebook hidden inside the mattress.

The notes show that Devine submitted her journal to Professor Harrold with a view to her and her colleagues being sent back to Cobb’s Corners, allowing them to collect more data and possibly physical evidence of strange creatures said to be living in the mountains. It outlined the group’s successes to date, explaining how the Cobb’s Corners locale is rife with local legends and detailed her plans for re-interviewing a local man named Jethro Cratchett in the hope of obtaining his grandfather’s diaries, as they contain a wealth of folktales he collected when working as a traveling salesman. The bulk of the journal was composed of the local legends the group was able to gather. There was also a letter from Prof Harrold to Devine inside. They took the books and the letters but left the journal (giving the name Jason Trent to the Landlord as they left).

September 13 1930

Eugene had to work in the morning but met up with Norris and Margaret at the football tryouts that afternoon. During the tryouts Norris and Eugene spotted Roderick Block and Harry Higgins getting into a car and driving East on Main St. The trio left to follow with Eugene on his bike. He followed them to the Arkham General Store. Inside he saw them buying a crate of dynamite, a shovel and some kerosene - and he noticed that Higgins seemed to be speaking with a German accent instead of his native Irish. He tried to follow them on his bike when they left - but they had spotted him in the store and he lost them as they left town via the Aylsebury Pike. The group decided they needed access to a car. Eugene tried to convince his boss at the auto shop, Abel Sykes, to lend them one of the loaners they kept on had for customers but he wasn't comfortable with that. Margaret sent telegrams to her father and brother asking for money for a vehicle - and while her father wasn't hearing it, her brother agreed to wire the money on Monday.

That afternoon Norris ran into Blaine's friends on the green and they convinced him to organize a game that night. Word spread and about 20 or so students attended in the basement of East Dorm (Margaret included - though she lost about $15). The night was a success and the mood chipper until one of Blaine's friends showed up late saying that he was passing by Blaine's apartment on the way and saw a crowd and cop cars. He asked the onlookeers what happened and was told that Blaine was dead. The landlord was woken up by the sounds of a woman's voice from Blaine's apartment and then heard a gunshot. The game night ended and after everyone left Norris walked over to the apartment and confirmed the story with a neighbor.

September 14 1930
After attending church with his family, Eugene went to the library to talk with Margaret, who was studying. While they talked they noticed that Roderick Block, Jason Trent, Louis and Laslow were also there - sharing a table and each reading through a stack of books. Margaret told Eugene about Blaine's death the night before and he decided to go see Norris at the dorms. They talked and decided that they didn't feel comfortable leaving Margaret at the library with the group and went back to join her. As they had been reading through Blaine's occult books, Eugene thought that maybe the field trip students had been possessed by demons - so Norris found a bible and asked Terrence and Roderick to touch it - thinking there might be a reaction. The only reaction was them staring oddly at him. When the library closed Norris and Margaret returned to the dorms (as did the field trip students) and Eugene went home. When he got there he saw his twin sister, Carla, being driven away in the back of a police car and his mother cyring on the stoop. She told him they were taking her for questioning in regards to an MU Student who had been shot the previous evening...

Session 9: Cabin in the Woods

September 14 1930 (cont)

Eugene and his mother went to the police station where this twin sister, Carla, had been taken for questioning regarding the death of Robert Blaine the previous evening. After a long wait Eugene was questioned by Chief Detective Luther Harden about his and Carla's relationship with Blaine and both of their whereabouts that night. Chief Harden showed him a torn piece of Carla's favorite sweater - saying it was found at the crime scene. He said they are looking at all possibles and would be holding Carla for 48 hours before either releasing her or charging her. After seeing Carla and assuring her that he would get her free, Eugene and Doreen returned home to sleep.

September 15 1930

Eugene called out of work in the afternoon but attended his English class with Professor Wilmarth that morning. After class, he asked Professor Wilmarth about Legends of New England and was told that he would look for the book and return in ASAP. Then he met up with Perri Price, Norris Kowalski and Margaret Edwards to discuss the recent turn of events. Norris decided to skip class and accompany Margaret to look for Clarissa Thurber and question her about Blaine's death while Eugene went to visit his sister and Perri went to class. They all decided to meet up at the Library that evening. Margaret spoke to one of the students at her dorm who said that Clarissa was at the Science Annex in labs today. She and Norris scoured the floors looking in windows until they found Clarissa, Harry Higgins and William Noakes in one of the labs with Professor Learmonth performing some tests on a rock sample. Listening at the door, Margaret heard them say the sample was Pasquallium - the ore that Prof Learmonth had the students looking for samples of in VT. They were telling the professor that this sample had been found in a meteorite crater and the Professor was saying that the ore might not be native to Earth. Margaret and Norris left the Annex and decided to procure a car with the money her brother had sent.

After her class, Perri went to see Professor Wilmarth in his office to see if he had located the book. They talked for a little about the book and her trip to VT before she left - the professor promising to look for the book and return it. She met up with Eugene who was looking for any sign of the field trip students and they went to the library. Perri started to look up what books the students had been checking out - and only came across some US History books that Jason Trent had checked out before being interrupted by Diane Long. Eugene found Jason, Roderick Block and Louis Gibbons reading books on the 3rd floor but couldn't get close enough to see what they were reading. He did see Laslow speak with Roderick and the two of them leave together. Perri and Eugene followed them to the street where they met up with Margaret and Norris in her "new" 1917 Buick Model D44. Laslow and Roderick got in Roderick's car and Margaret followed them out of town.

About 30 mins down the Aylesbury Pike Roderick turned down a small drive that lead up to a dilapidated house in the woods. Norris crept up to the house - noticing that the windows had been recently boarded up and the doors recently replaced. He tried to listen in at one of the windows but lost his footing and fell against the house. He hid in the treeline as Laslow came out to look around. Eventually he went back inside and moments later, he and Roderick drove back towards Arkham. The others joined him and they broke into the house through one of the back windows. The house was is in disrepair and looked unused for a long time. There didn't seem to be anything in the house (other than some old furniture) except for a bedroom on the top floor where roof was missing. They found 9 metal cylinders stacked up against the wall near some odd looking metal tool. Before they could explore further, they found a 5 ft tall pinkish creature with several sets of limbs and a "head" covered in very short antenna that changed color periodically. The creature rushed at and grabbed Eugene. Norris stabbed it in the side and it turned on him. Margaret grabbed one of the cylinders and tried to pull Norris out of the room while Perri lost control of her sight momentarily and began to pray. Eugene grabbed the metal tool as the thing tried to get the cylinder back from Margaret but went crashing into the wall. Margaret pulled Perri out of the room and down the stairs and Eugene shot and Norris stabbed the thing - which seemed to make it more angry than anything. They eventually followed the ladies and ran downstairs and into the waiting car. As they group sped away from the house, they saw the creature flying up out of the hole in the house's roof carrying some strange lumpy mass and start following their car.

Session 10: The Chase is On!

September 15 1930 (cont)

Margaret frantically drove away from the house and the bug-like creature that was chasing them. Eugene leaned out of the car to aim his gun at the thing but before he could get off a shot the thing the creature was holding started to spark and shot a blue bolt of lightning at him - striking him in the chest. As Perri's sight came back she administered some first aid to him and grabbed his gun while Norris helped Margaret navigate the road - narrowly dodging several other lightning shots. It seemed to stop chasing them as they left the woods and entered Arkham so they drove Eugene to the hospital where he was admitted and looked at by doctors. His mother was called and came to sit with him while the others went back to the dorms. Norris took the odd metal tool and tested it out - finding that it could create a mildly powerful sonic blast. Margaret and Perri opened up the metal cylinder to find a greenish liquid and wires inside. Perri collected a sample of the liquid in a perfume bottle but accidentally spilled the rest.

September 16 1930

Margaret woke up early and bought a safe from the Arkham General store to hold the cylinder back in her room before heading to class. Norris and Perri met up and went to the Science Annex to run some tests on the liquid she had found and discovered that it was incredibly rich with life sustaining nutrients. Norris showed her the Sonic Emitter and they discovered that the tool could also act as a very sharp blade. After class, they all met up at the Orne Library where they saw Roderick Block, Louis Gibbons, Laslow and Jason Trent in their spot on the 3rd floor. Perri noticed Professor Harrold going into Dr. Armitage's office and was able to listen in on their conversation. Professor Harrold was requesting access to the Restricted section for his students to work on a project but Dr. Armitage was adamantly denying them access. They agreed on Professor Harrold himself being given access in the evenings under Dr. Armitage's watch and Professor Harrold angrily left. He stop briefly to talk to the field trip group - telling them that they would all meet Friday to discuss recent events. The group decided to also ask for access to the Restricted Section and put in requests for Perri to look at The Forbidden Tablets, Norris to look at Cthulhu in the Necronomicon and Margaret to look at Of Evill Sorceries Done in New England by Daemons in No Humane Shape. Afterwards, they visited Eugene in the hospital, where he also took a look at the Sonic Emitter. When visiting hours ended everyone returned to the dorms for the night. Perri found her room ransacked and reported it to the RA and House Mother - though it looked like nothing had been stolen. That night Norris had a dream that one of the creatures came flying into his room - then heard some movement in the trees outside his window - but didn't see anything when he looked.

September 17 1930
Margaret went to her morning class and then stopped by Professor Learmonth's office to ask for a list of the students who had attended the field trip the previous year. He gave her a list of 7 students (3 graduates, 2 Dead, 2 Missing). She also spotted a Letter from Prof Ashley to a Mr Ableard of Federated Oil & Chemical on his desk. After his classes, Norris spent the day trying to distance himself from the situation. He ran into Blaine's friends and learned that his funeral was taking place in Boston on Saturday. He was also approached by Red (One of Danny O'Bannion's underlings) who said that O'Bannion wanted him to look into why his cousin, Harry Higgins, had been avoiding the family. Meanwhile, Eugene was visited by his mother who told him that new evidence had come to light - some eye witnesses placing Carla & Blaine together as a couple - and they were officially charging her with Blaine's murder.

Session 11: Legends of New England

September 17 1930 (cont)

Perri finished looking up the field trip student's check-out history at the Orne during her shift to find that none of them had really checked out any books other than the US History books by Jason Trent and some advanced medical and surgery texts by Harry Higgins. She also noticed that Professor Albert Wilmarth still had not returned Legends of New England. When her shift was nearly over, she was called in to see Dr. Armitage about her request to have access to the Restricted Section. She presented a good argument but in the end, Dr. Armitage decided against it. Meanwhile Margaret looked up the addresses for the 3 graduates from last year's field trip and wrote them letters asking about their experience in Cobb's Corners. Norris took to the streets pedaling his grandfather's tonics before heading to bed. That night he was woken by a sound and saw the bug-creature flying into his room. He ran out of the room screaming for his roommate and pounding on doors down the hall. When he calmed down - the whole floor had come out to see what was happening, including his roommate who said that nothing had come into the room - he must have imagined it.

September 18 1930

Norris decided to skip his classes and spent most of the morning in his room until he wandered out to the green to look for Henry Higgins. Perri got up early and went to ask Professor Wilmarth about the book again. At first he said he hadn't found it but after they talked a little more about her time in VT he produced Legends of New England and cryptically told her to read it and then come see him after classes later that afternoon. As she left, she ran into William Noakes outside his office. She listened at the door as he awkwardly spoke to Professor Wilmarth about having lunch with him sometime. She immediately went to see Eugene at St. Marys and together they read through a section of the book that seemed to describe the creatures they had encountered. She left Eugene and found Margaret and Norris and showed them the passages. Norris seemed disconnected and went to the Speakeasy while Perri and Margaret kept the meeting with Wilmarth. They traded stories - Wilmarth telling them that he had been in correspondence with a fellow scholar named Henry Akeley in VT. Akeley had described the creatures and how they could not be photographed. Eventually Wilmarth received a letter from Akeley inviting him to his home - and asking him to bring all the materials about the creatures so they could do further research together. When he arrived, Akeley was ill. During the night Wilmarth found a skin-suit in Akeley's form and a strange machines connected to a metal cylinder. When he turned on the machine - Akeley's voice poured form a speaker telling him how the creatures, known as the Mi-Go had removed his brain and promised to show him the wonders of the universe. Wilmarth fled and later, when Professor Harrold and Professor Learmonth announced their field trip he tried to have it cancelled by convincing the University to not fund it - but Learmonth procured private funding. They agreed to keep looking into the students (and staff) and to meet up or at least communicate with each other at Wilmarth's house near campus. Perri went to her shift at the Orne while Margaret went in search of Norris - finding him at the Speakeasy. She tried to lift his spirits and bought some of his grandfather's tonic before heading back to the dorms. Norris closed the joint out and then camped out on the green instead of returning to the his dorm.

September 19 1390

Perri got up early and went to see Eugene to catch him up to speed on their conversation with Professor Wilmarth before going to classes. Margaret met up with Norris on the green and they made plans to go look for Harry Higgins at the science building after her morning class. Norris' roommate rushed up to him as she left to tell him that the RA had a surprise room check last night and had found a couple whiskey bottles under his bed and then this morning a note from Dean Bricknell had arrived asking him to come by his office. The meeting with Dean Bricknell ended with Norris being expelled and told to vacate the dorms by the end of the day. He cleaned out his room and stored his things temporarily in Margaret's room. They then went to look for Harry at the Science Annex. They didn't find him - but did find Clarissa Thurber and Professor Learmonth doing more tests on the Pasquallium in his lab. Norris clashed with both of them but found out that Higgins had changed majors back to Medicine at the beginning of the semester and was probably in one of the teaching labs at Saint Mary's Hospital.

Session 12: 'Plan B' Situation

September 19 1930 (cont)

Thomas Downs III happened to run into Norris and Margaret as they were leaving the Science Annex. He had noticed some of the odd behavior of the field trip students (including the 4 who had returned early) so he introduced himself. They talked for a few minutes and then rushed off to St Marys. They found Harry Higgins in one of the student labs in the basement dissecting a cadaver (specifically cutting along the scalp). He was very standoffish but said he would call Danny O'Bannion later. They popped up to Eugene's room to let him know and then split up with Margaret going to the Library to work on schoolwork and keep an eye on Roderick  Block, Louis, Laslow and Jason Trent who were at their normal spot on the 3rd floor and Norris going to talk to Sam Flanaghan to rent Robert Blaine's room. When Perri's classes were done, she met Margaret and Norris at the Library to join in the surveillance. Thomas also happened to the library, where he went to speak to Roderick Block - finding him just as standoffish as the others have - before perching at a table to watch them and study. Around 8PM Laslow corralled the group and they left - depositing their books in the re-shelving section. Perri, Norris & Margaret followed them out - and Thomas followed THEM out, stopping to see what books they had left behind: Polynesian Mythology, with a Note on the Cthulhu Legend Cycle, People of the Monolith, G'Harne Fragments, Revelations of Glaaki volumes 5 & 6 and the Oracles of Nostradamus. The group followed Blocks' car in Margaret's car (and Thomas on foot) to a house on S Parsonage between Church and Main. The blinds were closed but listening at the window, they heard Professor Harrold addressing the group. He told them that they'd acquired a replacement brain case and sonic emitter. He said that since the group had been looking into their plans they were moving into a 'Plan B' Situation. He instructed them that the enzyme would take 5 hours to take effect and that both teams would go exactly at 10:30 PM so to be outside the Library and Science Annex before then. He told 'Gustav' to make sure to get "him" there before then. He also told 'Lawrence' (who answered in the voice of Laslow) to take care of Professor Wilmarth since he had spoken to Dr. Armitage and gotten his access to the Restricted area revoked. The voice of William Noakes spoke up saying that he was having lunch with Wilmarth the follow day and would make sure he wasn't a problem. They adjourned the meeting and all of the students left. Thomas went back to his dorm and the other group went to go talk with Professor Wilmarth. They decided that they would also be at the diner before his 12PM meeting so they could observe it - and then meet back at Wilmarth's house to discuss things after. Perri and Margaret headed back to the dorms (after dropping Norris at the Speakeasy). Norris told Red that he'd located Higgins but that he was acting weird and speaking with a German accent. Red said to keep an eye on him. Norris got a drink and went to talk to Angela Thurston and her friends for a bit - eventually heading back to his new apartment.

September 20 1930

Perri got up early to go see Eugene at the hospital, telling him about the meeting and the situation with Wilmarth before heading to her morning shift at the Library. Thomas stopped by Dorothy Upman Hall and sent a note to Margaret saying he'd like to talk with her. He waited for her in the lobby while she got ready and had breakfast first. They talked on the way to the diner, Thomas telling her that his father believed in the occult and talked about odd happenings in Arkham (landing himself in the asylum) and offered his help - saying that he also noticed odd changes to the field trip students. Margaret let him tag along into the diner where they waited for the others. Norris met them there but decided to sit at a separate table so they'd be spread out. When Noakes arrived, he didn't notice them - and Margaret and Thomas moved to a closer table to hear them better. Professor Wilmarth arrived and sat with Noakes. The conversation began with Noakes telling Wilmarth that he was actually Henry Akeley - but before they could say more, Thomas fell out of his chair trying while trying to lean in to hear better. Noakes quickly suggested that the he and Wilmarth go to Wilmarth's house (as Perri was arriving). Noakes lead Wilmarth to the tram while Perri, Thomas and Margaret (Norris elected to stay and have breakfast) ran to his house cutting through yards and beating the tram. They took up some stealthy positions around the house and watched as Noakes and Wilmarth got off the tram and went into the house.

Session 13: On Hangman's Hill

September 20 1930 (cont)

Perri, Margaret and Thomas listened at the window outside Professor Wilmarth's house as he talked with William Noakes/Henry Akeley. The conversation was very personal - as if they had know each other's families for a long time. When he left, Noakes/Akeley urged Wilmarth to not leave the house the next day as it might be dangerous. The trio waited until Noakes/Akeley was gone and then went to talk to the Professor. He said that the body of Noakes actually contained the surgically implanted brain of Henry Akeley - and that all of the returning students had similar implanted brains. The Migo had sent them here to retrieve some information from the Library and the Science department - though Noakes/Akeley wouldn't go into detail. They were also planning some sort of distraction to cover their tracks. He promised them he would stay indoors the next day and wished them luck - saying that he would help with anything they thought they needed. Afterwards, they went to see the gunsmith, Edward Parrington, and Thomas pulled some strings to procure them 3 rifles and a few boxes of shells. Then they went to see Eugene and Norris (who had gone to visit Eugene after finishing his brunch at the diner) and get them up to date with the situation. Feeling a little tension from Eugene and Norris about his sudden entry into the situation, Thomas retreated back to the dorms while Perri and Eugene made plans to try and attend church with his mother at some point the next day after he was released. Margaret walked with Norris to the Speakeasy and he confided his feelings of isolation and abandonment on the way. She gave him the keys to her car (which was housing the riles) and he reluctantly agreed to meet with the group the next morning to dole out the guns and split into 2 groups with Eugene, Perri and Norris focusing on the Library while Margaret and Thomas taking aim at the Science department.

That night around 10:45 Perri received a call from Roderick Block asking her to meet him alone at Hangman's Hill in the Old Wooded Cemetery in half an hour. He said that he wasn't 'Roderick Block' - that none of the students who came back were 'themselves' and if she didn't come then the alot of people could get hurt and the blood would be on her hands. She called over the to Speakeasy and convinced Norris to meet her at the cemetery. The 2 moved stealthily towards Hangman's Hill, with Norris taking up a hiding space at the base of the hill where he could watch the meeting. Roderick told Perri his name was actually Keith Clark, a former Geography professor at Brown University who had stumbled on the Mi-Go's base near Cobb's Corners and agreed to let the Mi-Go 'collect' him as long as his family was spared. When he got to Arkham, he sought out news of them and discovered that the Mi-Go had killed them right after he agreed to stay with them and had been looking for a way to get revenge on them. He laid out the Mi-Go's plans - saying that they would be using an enzyme to infect the food at the dorms which would cause anyone who ate in the cafeterias to develop sever amnesia that night starting around 10PM. They would use the distraction to access the library and collect a number of books that the Mi-Go wanted access to - and destroy a number of books that made references to them or their operations - while a 2nd group collected the Pasquallium samples and anything associated with its study. While he was spilling the beans, Laslow materialized out of thin air right next to Perri holding one of the lumpy bits of metal that the Mi-Go had fired lightning from previously. The shock caused her to accidentally shoot her weapon at him, killing him instantly. She grabbed the Electric Gun and ran at Block/Clark's urging. Norris saw all this play out - and also saw Harry Higgins and Jason Trent sneaking up to the meeting - carrying some sort of guns with a multitude of tubes connected to them. When Laswlow was killed, they started sprinting towards the hill and Norris jumped out of the shadows to attack Trent with the blackjack that Red had lent him at the Speakeasy. Higgins tried to subdue Block/Clark with his weapons - which shot out a mist that instantly caused things to freeze when it touched them but Block/Clark got the drop on him and killed him. Trent tried to freeze Norris - but Norris got the better of him - severely injuring him in the head and knocking him out. With the threats subdued, Block/Clark urged them to stop the others and told them that Daphne Devine was inhabiting Professor Harrold. She was in charge and had arranged the murder of Robert Blaine via Laslow/Lawrence who was psychically gifted. Then he shot Terrence in the head (saying that if their brains were intact - they could be re-collected by the Mi-Go) and then shot himself in the head.

Session 14: Family Matters

September 20 1930 (cont)

Around 11PM the RA told Margaret that she has a call waiting for her in the sitting room but when she picked up the line whomever was there wouldn't speak to her (but she could hear someone on the other end). When she got back to her room, her safe had been sliced open and the Brain Cylinder, Legends of New England and Isis Unveiled had been stolen. Her roommate, Francesca, was also found in some drugged sleep state. The police were called and Francesca transported to St. Marys for observation. Meanwhile, as Thomas was drifting to sleep, someone slipped a note under his door. After reading it, he followed a student that he saw at the end of his hallway down a flight only to find that 'a friend of Thomas' had given him the note to slip under his door. When he returned back to his room, he saw that his closet door was slightly ajar - and inside someone had stashed the Brain Cylinder. Not knowing what it was, he hid it in a janitorial closet down the hall and went to bed. Back at Hangman's Hill, Perri and Norris composed themselves as much as they could and collected the 2 Mist Projectors (in addition to the Electric Gun that Perri had already taken). Norris shot Jason Trent and Harry Higgins in the head and took Perri back to his apartment to rest as 2 people with flashlights were approaching the scene.

September 21 1930

Perri woke up early and made her way back to her dorm where she changed, rested and eventually went to meet Eugene as he was released from St. Marys. She filled him in on everything that had happened at the cemetery and they went for breakfast and then over to Norris' apartment. They took a look at the weapons they had confiscated. Perri was able to figure out how the Mist Projectors worked but the Electric Gun was a mystery - even to Eugene. Meanwhile, Thomas went to ask Margaret about the note and the Brian Cylinder hidden in his room. Margaret thought that someone was trying to frame him for stealing it. She checked on Francesca, who was embarrassed but awake before heading to the car where they were all going to meet. When everyone arrived - they exchanged stories and while they were deciding what to do next, a black car pulled up nearby with 2 large goon-like men in suits watching them. Norris and Eugene went to talk to them as another car pulled up and bookended the group - this one contained Red. Red explained that Harry Higgins had turned up dead and the Boss wanted to see Norris - and his friends. Everyone was corralled into the cars and driven to the Lucky Clover Carriage Company - where a room full of Irish mobsters sat around a table, with Danny O'Bannion at the head. Norris explained (somewhat) what he knew - but Mr. O'Bannion seemed determined to blame him for not protecting Harry in the scuffle. Margaret and Eugene also spoke on behalf of the group - with Eugene presenting the Electric Gun & Mist Projector. Mr. O'Bannion seemed to come around - saying that the people responsible for Harry getting mixed up in this mess would be taken care of. Eugene gave him one of the Mist Projectors - but he decided to also keep the Electric Gun. After leaving the mob, they decided to split up with Norris an Thomas checking out the cafeteria at East Dorm, Perri and Margaret looking around the one at Dorothy Upman Hall and Eugene going to the Orne Library to warn Dr. Armitage. While looking around East Dorm's kitchen and pantry where the spaghetti for lunch was on the stovetops and the dinner roast was being prepped, Thomas came across an empty tincture bottle that had been dropped on the floor and Norris happened to see Louis Gibbons slipping out the service entrance.

Session 15: A Good Diversion

September 21 1930 (cont)

Eugene went to speak with Dr. Armitage at the Orne Library and warned him about the coming attack that evening. Armitage said he would take persuasions (possibly informing the higher ups at the school) and urged the group to stay away or take persuasions. Meanwhile Perri and Margaret snuck in the back door of the kitchens at Dorothy Upman Hall and went looking for any signs of tampering. They didn't find anything and were asked to leave but not before learning that some other female student had been found loitering in the kitchen about 10 minutes previous. Meanwhile, back at East Dorm, Norris and Thomas gave chase after Louis Gibbons with Norris tackling him on the green. A policeman pulled them apart as a crowd started to gather (including Perri, Margaret and Eugene). They accused Louis of poisoning the pot roasts and implied the girls dorms food was contaminated as well. The officer closed down East Dorm's cafeteria, sent the food off for tests along with the vial Thomas had found (but not before touching his finger to the bottle an then his tongue) and took all 3 students to the police department for questioning. Eugene decided to search the Science Annex for Professor Learmonth - but his room was dark and locked. He took the tram to check in with Professor Wilmarth, who called the Learmonth household with no response - but got the address form the operator. Eugene went to the address and found Ms. Learmonth dead - with signs of having been shot with an Electric Gun. He returned to Learmonth and convinced him to leave town and then went in search of the others back at campus. Meanwhile, Perri and Margaret went to Prof Harrold/Daphne Devine's house - but no one was there - so they returned to campus and had lunch in the cafeteria at Dorothy Upman Hall before resting and studying. Norris and Thomas were questioned by the police - after telling their story (and playing some legal knowledge cards) they were released and went back to campus where they met up with the others. They decided to make a threatening anonymous call to the Arkham PD to encourage the other dorms cafeterias to be shut down - and decided to do so from Professor Learmonth's office. Thomas picked the lock on the door and they did a quick search of his lab, finding the samples of Pasquallium, Learmonth's notes on the samples and several other precious metal samples in his safe - which they took. Then Norris called the APD and made the threat to the answering officer. They retreated back to the green to watch and see if there was a police response. Not 10 minutes later several police cars pulled up and closed down the cafeterias of all 3 dorms. As they were watching, a police car swerved down the road and crashed into a parked car. The driver turned out to be the police officer that had tasted the enzyme bottle. He stumbled out of the car looking confused.

Session 16: The Raid

September 21 1930 (cont)

Perri, Norris, Eugene, Margaret and Thomas were on the Green watching the policeman that crashed his car stumble around bewildered. Norris was able to calmly approach and disarm the man before he ran away. As Perri scanned the area, she saw a young woman leaning way out of a 3 floor window at Dorothy Upman Hall fall to the ground. Margaret joined a small crowd gathering around the girl. She was asking one of the onlookers about the fall when the student she was talking to glazed over and started acting strange. Margaret quickly ran to her room to drop off some things and came upon a student freaking out in one of the dorm rooms who had knocked over a candle and set her desk on fire. She escorted the young woman out of the building and joined the rest of the group at the Orne Libraray - which was closed and locked up. Chaos was beginning to break out all around the dorms. Perri & Margaret started to worry since both had eaten lunch at the cafeteria - but luckily had just had salads and seemed to be ok. Margaret, Thomas and Eugene went to retrieve the rifles from Margaret's car - and saw Dean Bricknell stumbling down the street naked. Thomas escorted him to a bench and the group met back up with Perri and Norris - who had used the Sonic Emitter to cut a way into the Library's back entrance. They were met by 4 security guards, Napoleon and Dr. Armitage. The guards split up - 2 covering the front and 2 the back (with Napoleon) while Armitage and the group took cover in the reference section to prepare for the inevitable. It wasn't long before and explosion blew the front door open and a light sporish green mist wafted in - knocking out the 2 guards. Eugene and Thomas took positions at the top of the left and right stairs on the 2nd floor with Margaret positioned at the top of the 3rd floor stairs, Norris watching from the 3rd floor balcony, Armitage in his office and Perri hidden in the stacks near his office with the Mist Projector. Prof Roger Harrold/Daphne Devine and William Noakes/Henry Akeley entered the Library armed and carrying sacks and gas cans. Napoleon bounded at them but was knocked out by Noakes' Spore Gun. A shoot out broke out between the 2 remaining security guards, Thomas, Eugene and the Mi-Go's Agents. Noakes was killed and gasoline leaked out over the floor. Prof Harrold was shot and accidentally ignited the gas with his Electric Gun which started a fire in the middle of the floor. Norris and Margaret rushed to Dr. Armitage's office and the 3 retrieved some bags of sand to help put out the fire. Red came marching into the Library with an Electric Gun. Prof Harrold warned him about Thomas & Eugene on the stairs - but apparently not able to see them well through the smoke - Red took out one the cops. Eugene landed a well aimed shot at Prof Harrold the blew his head off and Red fled the building. Perri came downstairs and used the Mist Projector to finish putting out the fire. The group and remaining security guard helped move the bodies of the security guards and Napoleon to the 3rd floor while Norris surveyed the ensuing chaos outside. As Margaret came out to check on him, he spotted his friend Angela Thurston being attacked by another student. With Margaret's help they were able to pull the student off her and sent her into the Library to hide while they made their way over to the Science Annex. The front door to the Annex was smashed in but the inside didn't show much signs of damage initially. They encountered a scalpel armed professor in one of the labs - but closed him inside. Prof Learmonth's lab/office had been destroyed by several explosions. They decided to take a lap around campus - seeing the chaos/destruction was wide spread. As they walked, Margaret saw 4 Mi-go flying high above the town seemingly leaving the area in the general direction of VT. They went back to the Library and the group decided to drive out to the run down house they had discovered outside of town previously. On the way, they saw one of the Mob's cars had crashed into a tree along the road sometime earlier in the day. The house itself was the site of a tommy gun battle A 2nd Mob car was parked outside the house with a few Gangsters dead from electrical shots and one that had been dropped onto the car from a great height. Inside, they discovered the bullet-ridden body of Clarissa Thurber alongside Red and Professor Learmonth - all three bodies' skulls had been cut open and their brains were missing. There were no signs of the Brain Cylinders that had previously been stacked up against the wall - and nothing else in the entire house. They headed back to Arkham where it seemed the chaos had died down. They dropped Norris off at his apartment and took refuge at the Library for the rest of the evening. â€‹â€‹
